Sometimes they lead to the most unexpected results. For example, to the birth of a famous mini-skirt, as happened in 1964 in London, when the English fashion designer Mary Kuant included a small skirt in her collection of fashionable clothes. They say that this happened quite by accident: whether there were scraps of beautiful fabric, from which I wanted to create something unusual, or one of the street impressions responded in the collection when a young girl in a hurry tied a scarf on her hips. Now this is a legend.
How big passions are born.
Yes, passions because of the first, mini-skirts-long-length knee-length. What is the Russian history of the mini-skirt that appeared in our mid-60s. The old women of the whole country escorted young ladies with exposed legs with evil cries: “She completely lost her shame, cover his legs!”. Young and not very ladies stubbornly carried out the attacks of society. But today the mini is considered quite acceptable clothes in any circumstances – in the office and on vacation, at a secular reception and home. It is unlikely that now someone considers a mini-skirt to be provocative clothes, although it still attracts the attention of representatives of the strong half of humanity. It is also attracted!
In some countries, Mini Fashion is still fighting, seeing in it a threat to the state or religious structure of the country. In the late 60s, the Vatican publicly called a mini shameless. US President Richard Nixon forbade employees of the state apparatus to appear in the service in mini-skirts, declaring the government house “zone free of mini”. After the coup in Greece, the “Black Colonels” who came to power first of all banned the wearing of a mini-skirt. Persecution for mini continues and today. Three years ago, the authorities of the Tanzani island of Zanzibar banned foreign tourists to wear mini-skirts during Ramadan. The inhabitants of Zanzibar are Muslims, and they equate the wearing of mini-skirts and short shorts in mournful days of the post with the same serious sins as eating food and alcohol in the daytime.
What is the “royal mini”. Despite the prohibitions, fashion does not bypass even the most stringent adherents of traditional canons. In the 60s, when the rapid procession of mini-skirts in European countries began, on the advice of personal image maker, even her Majesty Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II shorten the hem of her skirts and dresses to the middle of the knee. This, of course, is not a mini-skirt, but a large shift aside attention to the tastes of society. Miniature skirts caused real excitement among avant -garde fashion designers of foggy albion. In just a few months, Mary Kuant’s invention has gained frenzied popularity not only in England, but throughout the European world: in France, more than 200 thousand English mini-chills were sold in France for the first year of sales. The United States of the mini-skirts were presented at the famous New York fashion show in 1965. After showing the fashion model, they went out to walk along Broadway right in outfits from the catwalk. In the evening news of all local television channels, reports appeared about this procession and many hours of traffic jams caused by the appearance of a large number of half -naked beauties on the streets. Very soon mini-skirts have become the main element of high-fashion collections. Young fashion designers Andre Kurezh and Pierre Carden offered fashionistas to breathtaking experimental models of the mini: short skirts, dresses, nightgown and outerwear – cloaks, coats and short fur coats.
Mini loved, love and will love.
The public love affected the first model to demonstrate mini-skirts and mini-dresses from a high-fashion catwalk. Twiggi fashion model, a fragile teenage girl with thin holes-holes, a freckled face and short haircut, formed a new ideal of beauty. Twiggi dressed as every girl could dress: funny, simply and without excessive luxury. The image of Twiggi was so close to young girls that the model deserved the title of “Faces of the Decade”. The stars of European and American cinema Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and others were recognized as a mini-finge. Starting from the 60s of the last century, the fashion has been ink from mini to maxi, every five to ten years, invariably returning to universal minimization. Today mini is still the most welcome outfit for relaxation and club parties. The mini-skirt is present in the collections of each fashion designer. The very presence in the collections of such clothes demonstrates great love of both fashion designers and the public for a small skirt, which remains relevant not only in the summer, but also in the cold season.
