Ballet pointe

Ballet pointe

Shoes in which classic dances dance is called pointe, or Kolki. It is accepted that such shoes are sewn for women, but this is not entirely. Men also wear poinets, and by the way, not only ballroom parties dance in them, but also modern dances.

Pantams are generally called the fingertips. Dancing on pointe is to dance on socks. With the help of special shoes – poinets, all body weight is transferred to the fingertips. At the beginning of the 19th century, the ballerinas inserted a cork, about 2 cm thick in the sole of the shoes. A little later switched to the use of glue in the basis of the sole.

With the help of starch glue, shoes become solid. The shoes are made from the satin. Each layer of the toe of the pointer is glued and left to dry for 24 hours. After which the toe becomes solid, and allows you to hold the shoes in an upright position.

For convenience, the shoes for the master are selected individually – measuring the leg in the insole. Having measured the contour of the foot – make the corresponding block. Strong skin is glued to the block, it should be smaller than the entire block.

The shoe is sheathed with a satin with dense nylon threads. And this is not all, after the firmware, the pointea lies in the furnace for 24 hours, at high temperatures – they are dried, after which you need to put in an insole, and they are ready to use.

It is impossible to avoid softening of a pointer, this, of course, depends on the duration of its use, and the negligence of the dancer. There is such information that the ballerina, in one performance, uses several pairs of pointe. We can say that the whole performance depends on the quality and strength of the pointer.
