A little about self -expression

A little about self -expression

In psychology, there is such a thing as needs. All of them are divided into two groups: basic and secondary. The American psychologist-humanist Abraham Maslow developed and introduced a whole theory of human needs.

In fact, it is quite simple. There is a fairly known scheme where human needs are depicted in the form of a pyramid. At its lower level are the same basic, basic needs. Of course, they are perfectly familiar to each of us, moreover, from the infant period. The lowest (and most main) level is occupied by vital needs, such as thirst, hunger, organic needs, etc. p.

Then, from step to steps, human needs, according to the scheme, change from vital to more existential, such as the need for recognition, beauty, harmony, etc. p. In a sense, this pyramid illustrates the development of human nature from infancy to the very end of his life.

It is believed that the needs of a higher order cannot arise. This theory was challenged and even partially refuted by some other researchers, but, in general, it is quite true.

In the middle of the above pyramid there are human needs such as the need for love and the need for recognition. This includes a fairly extensive spectrum of various concepts. In general, starting with these steps, it is easy to trace the difference between a person and an animal, as a creature of a high social and moral category.

Simple example: we all know how actively looking for approval from peers teenagers. There is nothing more painful for a girl or a young man than to be a rejected by his own.

Simply put, to be outside the company in adolescence is almost the same as being outside society. As a rule, a teenager is experiencing such a gap with peers quite painfully; The complex relations of such a plan can leave a fairly serious imprint on the subsequent life of a person.

It is a mistake to think that the need for love and acceptance is relevant only in a puberty period. Approval among relatives and friends, among colleagues, we tend to look for almost at any age. In order to earn approval, as you know, you need to show yourself from the best side.

And here it opens just a phenomenal scope for action. Self -presentation is not as easy as it seems at first glance. We are all trying to impress others in any accessible ways, choosing subconsciously the type of action that is closer to us, we do what we do best.

It is interesting to note that to a large extent on how exactly we attract attention, the gender aspect affects. So, men strive to prove themselves as a leader, a strong and strong -willed person. Women, on the other hand, focus on the softness of character or beauty, or rather the appearance.

Speaking about the appearance, it should be noted that, thanks to the modern development of cosmetology and medicine, women are really able to get closer to the ideal even if nature has not been already favorable. True, this way to become beautiful is still a stick about the two -edges and has many negative consequences. The ability of self -expression due to naturalness and originality is much higher.

How can you show yourself in unusual quality? There are many ways. One of the banal ones is clothing. As the famous German writer e wrote. M. Remarck, “only what you wear without a sense of self -confidence”. In order to stand out against the background of others, it is not at all necessary to buy expensive things in boutiques. It is easy to find what will be best emphasized by your virtues.

There is another way – accessories. Already on these small details the modern market is extremely rich. You can prove yourself in absolutely any little things, for example, such as an umbrella. Of course, looking in this area something exclusive, completely extravagant is not always practical and always very expensive.

As an option, you can use ready -made collections of famous manufacturers, the benefit of their choice in the market is also quite large. There are a great many ways of expression. The most important thing is to never try to show yourself such a person as, in fact, you are not at all. In the end, being yourself is the greatest value that each of us is able to afford.
